Determination, Grit, and Work will change this County for the Better

When your kids are born, you have a million dreams about what they will do, what they will achieve, and who they will become.

I watch my daughter every day, and she continues to amaze me. Her favorite sport is softball, which I am sure anyone who has looked through my profile has figured out by now. She is determined to play at a high level, and from the attention she is receiving from college coaches, that dream has a real possibility of becoming a reality.

But that is not what amazes me most.

What amazes me is the work nobody sees.

She works five or six days a week on her pitching. She works on muscle memory, mechanics, and the smallest details that can improve the movement, command, and velocity of her pitches. Then there is the lifting, hitting, conditioning, and everything else that goes into getting better.

Nobody is forcing her to do it. She does it because she has a goal, and she understands that getting where she wants to go takes work.

I have seen that same determination in so many of the young athletes I have coached over the years, both girls and boys. Many of them are now in high school, with some being recruited by major Division I programs. They did not get there because someone handed them an opportunity. They pushed themselves. They worked. They wanted something better, and they were willing to put in the effort to get there.

That is the same intensity and work ethic I plan to bring to county government.

Over the years, I have seen too many people get involved in politics for the wrong reasons. Sometimes it seems like people are more interested in capturing the perfect photo than getting into the trenches and doing the work.

Making Charles County better will take work. Lowering the burden on working families will take work. Improving our parks, recreation programs, roads, infrastructure, and communities will take work. Bringing responsible economic development to our county will take work. Listening to residents and actually following through will take work.

I am ready to do that work.

Every resident deserves the opportunity for more, and they deserve a county government that works as hard for them as they work for their families.

Public service should be about leaving something better behind. I want Charles County to be a place where the people who built their lives here can afford to stay here, where our children can build their own futures here, and where the next generation has even greater opportunities than the one before it.

That is what "More for Charles" means to me.

More opportunity. More accountability. More for our families. More for our kids. More for Charles.

We have 89 days until Election Day, and I cannot do this alone.

This campaign is going to require both manpower and financial support. If you are able to make a donation, please consider supporting our campaign. If you can volunteer, knock on doors, make calls, put out signs, help at events, or simply spread the word, we need you too.

It took a community effort to get us on the ballot, and it is going to take that same kind of effort to win in November.

It will take all of us working together to make a difference. If you believe Charles County can do better and our residents deserve more, I hope you will join us.

Let's get to work.

Authorized and paid for by Vrem for Charles, Tatiana Rodriguez Vrem, Treasurer.
